Here's my newest addition to decorating..for cheap.
Took less than 2.5 rolls of standard black hockey tape.

Thanks

Flaming Cauldrons (fake)

What happened to all the fake flaming cauldrons?

Stores used to be flooded with them the last few years, but this year I have not been able to find one.

I'm talking about those mini cauldrons, with the silk flames that blow upwards and have a light built in to make them glow.

Hmm, good ideas.

I'm going to have to fiddle around a bit and experiment I guess.
My basement is getting full of my supplies and props for a haunted garage, but I'm just not in the spirit yet to start putting it together. Maybe a little too early still for me.

Manequin Head

I recently purchased a few of those manequin heads. The white styrofoam heads, used for wig display. I want to use them for many halloweens to come. This year, I want to make them into witch faces, but here is the problem. I don't want to mark them or paint them since next year they might be somethi...

Smelly Masks

I purchased my wolfman mask today, it looks great!

But it has an odd smell, like most plastic does I guess, including fake fur.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to get rid or 'mask the smell of my smelly mask?

I thought about putting a clothes dryer sheet in there, might freshen it up.

Those do look pretty cool. I have a collection of the original Burger King series from 2001 that light up. I don't think I'll be displaying them this year, I'm just running out of space with more and more decorations. I'll try to find a picture at home to post of the figures. They'll probably disapp...

I love the hat. I'm having a witch lair for my haunted theme this year. I'm just about to head out to Walmart now to find some stuff for papier mache. Your hats are a great idea. I was going to make some witch heads for my props, and now I'll make a hat too!

I'll post pics if all goes well.

I purchased a strobe light thingy from a dollar store last year. It did not have the effect I thought it would I don't know why they call it a strobe. It just blinks and the battery died quickly. I had cheap batteries, but even still, they died out after an hour or so.

So just a heads up.

Scary Stories to tell in the Dark

I'm sure you've all heard of them before, but for those who haven't, these were the scariest books I'd ever read as a kid. The pictures alone send chills down the spine. These are great for parties or bedtime. Scary Stories to tell in the Dark - Alvin Schwartz There's about 3 in the series now, and ...

Myself, I usually just get some small cheap candies, like those rockets and bubblegum. I spend my time and money haunting the yard/garage, so handing out candy is my least favorite. It's trick 'or treating, so I'd rather give them a "trick" by making a cool halloween haunt, and scaring the...

I'd have to agree, you probably won't find better prices than at a dollar store, unless you have a nearby wholesaler or a fleamarket. But half the fun of halloween is creating your own gear. Cardboard swords with grey or silver paint would be really cheap, or just wrap with tinfoil. Bandanas can be ...
