Re: Halloween becoming popular in Germany

I think it's good to celebrate Halloween, but I always thought that some traditions already started in Europe didn't they? I'm pretty sure the pumpkin is an American thing though. I think Japan has already incorporated Halloween and Christmas into their culture (though they view Christmas much diffe...

I think it would be a good idea to at least seek out legal advice from an attorney.

Re: With a yard haunt, should the porch lights stay on?

I remember going to one really cool house when my parents were still married, and it actually had the grown ups dressed up as ghosts. It was really cool. It scared me a bit though being so young, but looking back on it, it was pretty awesome. I'm not sure if they had a porch light on, but I think th...

Re: How to attract more Trick or Treaters?

I've thought about volunteering for the school. I'm not exactly sure what I'd be doing there though or if the school itself would have any options for that sort of thing, though schools are all about kids. I wouldn't mind volunteering for things like the Christmas Mother, a program that assists fami...

Re: Thinking of a Haunted Castle and Medieval Theme this yea

Right now the prospects of the new house are really exciting, and we both love medieval stuff like knights and castles, so incorporating a "Halloween" medieval theme would be fun. But I wonder how to pull it off without it costing a whole lot...I still want it to look cool without it looki...

DON'T FORGET YOUR GREEN TOMORROW!

Because Tomorrow is St Patty's day! *looks at the clock* Which will happen in less than an hour. Wow! Time sure does fly lol. I've got a green Lipton Tea shirt I got from the boss, and some green camo pants to wear tomorrow. I think I'm covered. Do you guys plan your green outfits early on, or throw...

Re: Anyone do anything special for St Patty's day?

Actually I might try that myself one of these days. I have a crock pot now and I love cooking stuff in it. I've made things like chili, cocktail weenies, scalloped potatoes and even a concoction using my mother's lasagna recipe but with Macaroni noodles as a tasty way to eat up stuff around the hous...

Re: With a yard haunt, should the porch lights stay on?

i don't think my mom would let me go to a house that didn't have the front door/porch light on when I was a kid...I dunno... When I lived with grandma and if it didn't get too cold, sometimes I'd sit out on the lawn, a lot of kids were afraid to go up into the porch which stinked because that's wher...

I think they look pretty cool, but I doubt I'd invest $200 in something that could possibly melt on me.
As far as being cast from a human skull, I would hope at least the skull was sanitized first! The chocolate ones remind me of those ancient fossils you find from archeological digs.

How to attract more Trick or Treaters?

Is there a way to get more Trick or Treaters to your house? Last year we had only one Trick or Treater, my boyfriend's cousin's son. That was it. I'm thinking this year we'll just get one little bag of candy. No point in buying a whole bunch if we're only going to get one little Goblin. Unless you k...

Re: Yard Sales....getting rid of all that extra junk

Since we're moving into the bigger house next store, I think it would be a good idea to have a yard sale. Probably have to ask for a weekend off to accomplish that. I already have some clothes set aside that I want to get rid of.

Re: Spring & Summer Plans

Depends on the circumstances, but I am planning a trip to New York to visit family. Going to see how good the gas mileage is with my new car that I got in December. It's not brand new by any means, but it's new to me. It's a '97 Honda Civic. So far the gas mileage has been great though. A long road ...

Re: When do you start hankering for Halloween?

johnsoneliza52 I think there were more Irish folks in the area where I used to live than here, but I could be wrong about that. They had a parade and such as well, but I've never had anything like a St Patty's day party. Being a grown up can suck sometimes, there's more freedom, but freedom isn't fr...

Re: I HATE WINTER

Sounds like I'll need to do my homework then. My boyfriend mentions how the transmission is on the handlebars of a dirt bike. I wonder if I should start with something small like a moped or a dirt bike. I know how to drive stick shift on a car, in fact that's what I passed my road test on back when ...

Thinking of a Haunted Castle and Medieval Theme this year

Of course, we'll want to do so on a budget. Our land lord has decided to move out and offered to sell us her property, so that means we'll have the big house to work with and full reign of the entire yard. We've been discussing what to do with the little house, (including have our own local Haunted ...
