Good job. Will you post a picture of the project completed?

Of Course!!!....lol
We're only about 1/2 the way there now. Funny how you can start panicking when you realize " OMG its June already. We'll never be ready in time"

You're welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing the project completed. It must be very eye-catching.

It would be really cool if you were able to make the castle walls bleed. Like putting little holes in the walls and put sandwich bags of blood behind the holes. Puncture tiny holes in the bags and let them drop out onto the walls.

Thats a cool idea. I was also thinking about making some holes like a canon ball had
hit parts of the castle, etc.....Thanks for the suggestion!

Do you have to get a permit or anything from your township to build your scenes? I've always wanted to do something big like that. By the way, where do you store all those props till Halloween?! LOL

We don't live in a neighborhood with a homeowners association, so no permit. We have a huge party in conjunction with the neighbors across the street (125 people or so) for adults only, with usually a dj or a band, either the day before halloween or close; and we have checked into getting a permit for that, but the police stated that we don't need one. If they get a complaint about noise, we just have to tone it down.
The year we did the old west town...My neighbors surprised us by hiring the gunfighters from Old Tombstone to come and put on a show for us. All those 'guns' caused the police to be called, but they didn't shut us down until 1am, and it was time anyway.

We don't keep the props from year to year. We donate them to a friend of our that hosts a charity Haunted House (if he wants them). I don't know if he will want the castle or not, but it is just old doors and newspaper that were already thrown away; so it may go to the dump.
(or maybe I'll keep it and set it up in the back yard, and have 'pretend' days) lol

Absolutely! That would be fun to make a huge party out of it.

You know what America really needs?? More castles. We should all get right on that.

Castle, I'm not talking about you. One of you is more than enough. We don't need the landscape littered with trucks with keys locked inside them, thank you very much. :|
