What are you going to decorate for Christmas?
Well, I am going to put up Christmas tree with ornaments and lights on December 1st, plus put the christmas lights outside around the house.

I have a large Santa Claus and Snow Man balloons with lights inside. I will put them in the front yard and keep eye on both of them. I have a few bushes in the front yard that look like mini Christmas trees!

I do put lights around them.

On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving I am going to dig otu all my Christmas LPs and CDs. On the Friday after Thanksgiving, I am going to put up a couple of strings of Christmas lights inside the house, and some golden candle sticks. I am also going to put Christmas table cloths on the kitchen and dining room tables on that same day. On the Sunday after Thanksgiving, which is the first Sunday of Advent, I am going to put my Advent Wreath together and celebrate the opening fo the Christmas season. On the first Saturday of December I am going to select my Christmas tree, and on Saturday December 13th I am going to put it up, and have a tree trimming party for all my nieces and nephews. After the tree is trimmed, the manger scene, which is amall enough to fit under the tree, is placed there but without the 'baby Jesus" figure. In our family we have (or shoudl I say had) a tradition of the oldest family member gets to put the star on the tree, and the youngest member puts the baby Jesus in the manger on Christmas morning. I live alone, so I'm both the oldest and the youngest, so I get to put the star on the tree and on Christmas morning, I get to put the baby Jesus in the manger.
I don't put up any outside lights or decorations because it's too much of a hassel tot ake them down after Christmas. It's especialy a problem if it snows or freezes and the lights are stuck to what ever they are strung on.

I do a lot of Christmas decorating. Since I won't get on a ladder to hang lights outside -- I have a two-story house -- and my husband doesn't have the time to decorate, I hang my lights from inside the windows using those plastic decorating clips from 3M. Those things are great! Besides decorating clips, they also make other helpful general household items, such as hooks for hanging clothing, keys, or pictures. The sticky tabs that are applied behind the hooks won't ruin your walls and aren't permanent. The only surface they advise against using them on is wallpaper. I wouldn't be without them.

Basicaly I do not do a lot of extensive decorating for Christmas. A string fo lights around the fireplace mantel, a string of lights in the dining room, Christmas table cloths for the kitchen and diningroom table and a Christmas tree, which is decirated by my nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews at my Tree Trimming party I have every december. Most importantly, a Nativity Scene is placed under my Christmas tree in a very prominent place. You see, when it comes to Christmas, it's the same deal as with Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, the 4thof July, and my whole life. TRADITION is the order of the day. A real tree, and a Nativity Scene are the two most important TRADITIONS associated with Christmas.

I love candles, too. Even before Christmas, I light the Advent Wreath at every Dinner, and I have Christmas candles that I light all through the entire Christmas season.

Well, using Christmas candles year round is where I draw the line. I use candles year round for other holidays, but Ilike Christmas init's proper place, which IMHO is Thanksgiving through January 6th, the Feast of the Epiphany. I do light candles for Thanksgiving and Easter, too.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!
Adrian
Love the Signature, who wrote it?

That makes Christmas for me.
The old traditional big-bulb lights, a real tree and lots of evergreen-scented candles.
Yankee makes a good one that smells just like a fire in the fireplace, too. Love that one, and I forget the name.
