GMAX is actually free, it's a dumbed down version of a very expensive 3d program

Yay you started the art thread, Corvus! Thank you!

Spooky, great coffins!

And once again Corvus, great artwork.
I'll get some pics posted of mine tonight or in the morning. :)

Wow, nice work Spooky.

I tinkered around with some early CAD software but never got anything to look the way I wanted so I stopped.

Maybe I should revisit the technology.

it isnt easy at all really, altho some programs are more user friendly then others, I have heard Google Sketchup is pretty easy to use but from what I have seen it takes a lot of "skill" to get your model to look realistic with it. The program you use to render makes a big difference too. I have seen some 3d models that were rendered and look just like a photo, unreal stuff when the person is super talented..

I was blown away when I saw the first Madden NFL game, which looks crude next to the latest one.

Thanks, guys! :D The goal was to make something passable using only picture editor and paint programs. That GMAX thing sounds cool. I'll have to give it a go.

Here is one piece that I've done.
A couple of people here have already seen it, but I'll post it anyway for a start. :)

Thank you! :)
That is interesting that you say spooky. I never looked at it that way. To me it just felt warm and good.

Yes! Or an underwater spirit. I like that. :)

It's Japanese for Spirit.
