Bungee Death Trap

Post by NeverMore » Mon Oct 12, 2009 3:54 pm

Here's the deal... my buddy has access to some bungee cords such as you use for bungee jumping. We're thinking of rigging them to the tall trees in our friends' back yard, where the party will be, and building a platform up there. As people come into the yard we'll have them stop for a photo opportunity. Meanwhile I, or whoever is connected to the bungees, will jump from the platform down to where they're at, grab them from behind and spring back up into the air. Obviously, we'll only do it with people we know well, maybe a signal from whoever is taking the photos once they know who the intended victim is. Don't want to get sued. Should be great entertainment for the people already at the party also. We're gonna rig it up next weekend and make sure it works. I sure hope it does!

The question is... would this scare you? Getting grabbed from behind and flung up into the air?

god that sounds like so much fun
i personally think its a great idea if you can pull it off like you're invisioning it :)
please post a video of it when you're through ;) i'd like to see it
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

.
I didn't think of that! Bring a video camera. I usually don't have time to take pictures cuz I'm spending all my time scaring people... and drinking. We probably don't want to do this once the heavy drinking starts, huh? Though a trip to the hospital would be a great way to cap the evening.

wow that's crazy.. well look at it this way..

you'll be jumping from a tree so the fall won't be as bad.. plus you can test it out with a matress below you :)

my thing is... once you grab your victim.. how are you going to control whre you both land baack up in the tree.... or was landing back in the tree not in the plans

Although it sounds like fun I must say I think it's a very dangerous and bad idea.

Nah. With the weight of two people it wouldn't go very high, just a couple feet. Have you ever seen those jumpers at the mall? They have two bungees attached to a couple poles, you strap in, jump up and do flips and stuff in the air. That's what gave me the idea.
