Halloween Marathon
Hi All --- Just found this website and forum, and I plan to be a regular.
So, for my first forum topic, I just wanted to ask what was the schedule for everyone's own personal Halloween marathon this year (taking for granted those on a forum like this do so).
Here is mine:
8:00 a.m. Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed
10:00 a.m. Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein
11:30 a.m. The Simpsons: "Treehouse of Terror"
12:00 noon The Andy Griffith Show: "Haunted House"
12:20 p.m. Roseanne: "Halloween"
12:40 p.m. Newhart: "War of the Worlds"
1:00 p.m. The Brain That Wouldn't Die
2:30 p.m. The Return of the Vampire
4:00 p.m. Dracula (1979)
6:00 p.m. Mad Monster Party
7:30 p.m. "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"
8:00 p.m. Halloween (1978)
9:30 p.m. Halloween II
11:00 p.m. Pumpkinhead
12:30 a.m. The Hollywood Knights
2:00 a.m. The Grave Dancers
This is a marathon day wrapping up a month-long Horror Movie Festival, and is pretty much the same every year.
Also, in the background I continually play one of the (now) 7 CDs from the band Nox Arcana (local guys that do great gothic soundtracks --- http://www.noxarcana.com).
Enjoy seeing others' Halloween Marathon schedule ...

I like your line up. BTW, I'm a big fan of Abbot and Costello and I love that movie, The Frankenstein Monster, Dracula and the Wolfman all make an appearance. A Classic.
Hey what about "The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown". That is always on my Schedule for Halloween.

Because once you cross that bridge, my friend, the ghost is through, his power ends.
Out goes Roseanne
The Roseanne/Halloween episodes are funny, but yes, Charlie Brown gets precedent on Oct. 31st!

Hey Uncle POE, welcome! Dutchess of Darkness LOVES Nox Arcana. I've listened to a few of their songs from their website, and they make great background music. I noticed at Spirit Halloween store they're selling their stuff at the check out counter.
Anyway, on topic, a good friend of mine does a Halloween film festival every year, this year is the tenth anniversary, so it's going to be a doozy. He starts Friday at 7pm and goes until Sunday at about 10pm. This year it's the weekend of October 19th-21st, a little early, but my wedding is on the 27th so he's doing me a favor. As soon as he has a schedule, I'll post it. He posted a few times on here last year, and let us vote on the cover art for the commemorative CD's he does of music fromt he movies he shows. It's a blasty blast.

I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Though my night is not as thoroughly planned as POEs, I have to say that usually around Halloween, I break out Halloween III Season Of The Witch, The Fog, Christine, and the first 4 Friday The 13ths.
The dark night beckons. Bear us your soul, it whispers. Expose your wicked delights. Join the rest of us on the wind. The dark night beckons and we answer. Sailing into the shadows.
I'm glad there is someone else out there that appreciates "Halloween III" --- I know how most people feel about this non-Michael Myers flick.
I thought John Carpenter had a great concept, doing a movie every year for Halloween. "Season of the Witch" has its flaws, but I think many more people would have embraced it had it not been called "Halloween III".
One of the super megastores has numerous horror movies on sale now for $5.00. I recently purchased the first four "Friday the 13th" films, which are just plain nostalgic and fun gruesomeness for the season.
Speaking of F13 ... this is one series I anticipate highly coming to DVD ... the television series that is. Despite the bizarre reason to call the program "Friday the 13th", it was an excellent horror series.

You and I see eye to eye POE.
FYI folks: Halloween III Season Of The Witch is an excellent Halloween tale seperate from the Myers saga.
Wal Mart has the F13's for 5 bucks a pop.
The series on box set? Niiice!
