To each his/her own, Witchy. I didn't care for any of the "Twilight" flicks either. I thought the first one was particularly boring, more a ramance story then a horror movie. I also HATE IT when movie makers break with tradition. A vampire IMHO is supposed to be a dead thing that roams the woods by night, and rests in a coffin by day. Barnabass Collins lived in a 300 year old house, and Dracula lived in a 700 year old castle. Niether one of those classic vampires were never seen living in a modernistic new home, cooking Italian food and playing back-yard baseball. A vampire isn't a "cool dude" who can be seen in the sun light. A vampire is supposed to be NOSFERATU, a horrid undead being, or a child of the night.

A lot of people do like the "Twilight' movie, and more power to them. I just prefer traditional, horrifying monsters for vampires.

Mike

They all look like they should be fed to the vampires in '30 days of night'.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

I made it through three quarters of 30 Days of Night before I realized there were subtitles when the vampires spoke. Then I didn't like the movie as much.

i loved the idea of vampires having their own language  cultures much less isolated than vampires would be have their own distinctive languages, so why wouldn't vamps? 30 days vamps were wonderfully grotesque and a nice change from the happy sparklers in twilight

I agree. I loved that they had their own language, and part of what made the movie creepy was thinking they were communicating without me understanding specifically what they were saying. The alien-ness of it really upped the scare factor. But once I saw the subtitles, and understood what they were actually saying, the dialogue ended up being cheesier than what my imagination was picturing. It took something away from the raw brutality of the vampires.

I haven't seen 30 Days of Night yet. It's on my list though.

Witchy, how was Eclipse? Did you like it?

Ok, I heard about Twilight Saga: Eclipse from my cousin and she told me it was okay. But still pretty good movie though....

I watched a movie called Teeth the other night, and found it to be an excellent movie about female empowerment. Definitely not a movie for the squeamish.
