I went and saw Hotel Transylvania this past weekend with the niece, my sister and my dad. I really liked it--it was pretty fun and my niece got the giggles, which is always amusing. My dad kinda looked like he would have rather taken a butt-kicking than sit through it, but at the same time, Halloween movies aren't really his thing. It was a rainy day and he got to have popcorn and coke, so he didn't suffer too much. Next up: Frankenweenie 8)

I hope I can see both with the c r a p pay I'm getting now.
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

I saw paranorman as well. I would give it a B. Not the greatest movie but I would see it again. I am looking forward to seeing Hotel Transylvania. Also I have seen the short of Frankenweinie and loved that so I'm excited for the full length movie.

I liked the starts of Frankenweenie and Paranorman, but didn't like them as either progressed. Really ended up being disappointed in Frankenweenie the most, but I loved Hotel Transylvania. Cute all the way to the end.

My teen daughters saw Hotel Transylvania when it first came out and all they would say was that they liked it but it bothered them that so much of the beginning of it seemed to be copied from Mad Monster Party - which they love. I finally saw it over the summer and while I see what they are referring to, I'm not really bothered by the similarities and overall thought the movie was cute.
