Alright, not that anything could possibly replace Halloween, what I'm talking about are Holidays like Hannukah and the passover that the jews celebrate, then you have Kwanzaa which I think is African in Origin, and I think the muslims have some of their own holidays.
I did mention that some cultures have their own version of Halloween, Like the japanese oban week and Mexico's dia de muertos. But, I think Japan celebrates both Oban week and the traditional North American/European style Halloween, but I could be wrong. I know that Halloween is celebrated in the anime Blood: The Last vampire, but the main character is also visiting America, or at least an american army base. I can't remember which, it was a confusing movie.
I've always wanted to go to a passover or a bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah (for girls) because of my jewish ancestry. I'm not a full blooded jew, my great grandfather was one until he converted to Christianity. So, I don't follow any of the jewish traditions, but I would like to experiance a Hannukah, a passover, or even a bar mitzvah or a bat mitzvah myself.
I don't think anything could possibly replace Christmas either, but if i had it my way I'd celebrate the Christian and Jewish holidays together.
Is it true that Jews don't celebrate Halloween? Maybe some do, I wouldn't really know for sure.
Thoughts on these other holidays?

"Alternative" Holidays
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

I'm no expert on the Jewish race, but I think many of them do celebrate and enjoy Halloween. I know many give out candy for ToT.
One of my fondest dreams as a Christian is to visit Isrial (Jerusalem) during the Pass Over / Easter Holiday.

... too many holidays. That's why I like Halloween. Short, simple. It's on the same day of the month every year. No special rules. Special exclusions apply. Void where prohibited. Must be 21 to enter.
... long day.... need vacation. God bless July 4th and it's awesome timing.... which also coincides with my wedding anniversary (July 1st-- 3 yrs! OMG!)

All you that doth my grave pass by,

Re: "Alternative" Holidays
Well, to be fair Christmas always falls on the same day of the year as well. But the fact remains, what is there to possibly not love about Halloween?
But I disgress, I'd love to visit Isreal as well because of my jewish heiritage and because of being a Christian, but I'm too much of a coward. Isreal's smack dab in the middle of the middle east, and I don't want to become the next suicide bomber victum. Of course, being in the US, I doubt I'm much safer, but at least where I live there isn't any on going shooting or threats of being bombed.
I would love to celebrate the passover. In the Old Testiment I believe the celebration of passover was even a commandment from God. Did God ever take away that commandment? Sure, Jesus was supposed to fulfil the law but that doesn't mean we can't still observe traditional jewish holidays.
I believe Dia de Muertos falls on the same day as Halloween, but they take the celebration of the dead way more seriously than we do.
By the way I've got the Fourth of July off! Surprized me quite a bit! I may go to my other grandma's for a barbecue.

Re: "Alternative" Holidays
I'm goinf to visit a fireworks tent on my way home from work this afternoon for the 4thof July. I also plan to get some firecrackers in Indiana some time Friday.
As for my trip to Isrial, I do actualy plan to do it some day when my Sleep Apnia clears up and I have the $$$ to get there. I hate the way comercial airliners treat their customers, so when I do visit the Holy Land, I plan to go on a cruise ship. I may still have to hop on a plane to get to where the ship is docked, but if I can get there on my (1st choice) motorcycle (2nd choice) Amtrak, I'll do it.
