Because if you let one person do it, you've got to let everyone, and the next thing you know it'll become fashionable to pickle your dearly departed and plop them on the sofa in front of your wide screen telly, which will completely ruin the entire premise of Weekend At Burnie's, rendering one of the pillars of 20th Century American comedy unfunny. Which very well could send us into a double-dip recession.

It's sad and I feel sorry for her. She has a hard time letting go. As much as I'd miss a loved one terribly, I could never keep that person's dead body around.

That's the sense that I got as well...they provided her 'companionship' now that she is all alone...but very macabre. I felt sorry for her reading about it but she was very open and honest about it. They haven't charged her yet with anything I noticed...

I have to agree with Sue on this one. This woman id in her 90s, is very close to death her self, and is probably very lonely. She probably outlived all of her loved ones, and feels the emptiness and lonliness all the time, but especialy at times like Christmas and Thanksgiving. It might sound gruesome, but I think all this woman really wanted was to be with her family, and not die alone.

Although it's very sad and creepy, I do agree with some of the comments posted that at least she wasn't hurting anyone ... she was lonely and just missed her sister and husband terribly. In one sense they'd always be with her, but they'd just be empty shells of the people they once were. On the positive side, she'd always be ready for Halloween.
