Moderation in all things. Anything consumed in the right quantity can be toxic and kill you, even water.

Actualy yes and no. A pig is a pretty filthy animal by nature, so back many years ago, people got sick from eating pork if it wasn't cooked well. Now a days, because of the way pigs are fed, the instances of tricanosis and other deseases is lower in pork then it is in beef. Pork is also leaner to boot, so it's actualy better for you then beef. It contains less fat. I still prefer beef personaly, but some times a good rack of pork will work great on the barbecue. It's very easy to dry out, however.

And despite all the upgrads to the meat, I still prefer pork to be well done.

"A pig is a pretty filthy animal by nature"

Not true. People assume that because they roll in mud to keep cool because they can't sweat. They're actually very clean animals. Ask George Clooney.

yup, exactly true, back in the "old days" pork could be dangerous, especially if not fully cooked, but now days it's pretty safe but I dont eat it much and when I do I want it well done!

My husband tells me I need to have pork at least twice a week. I think it is a trick.

I have always heard that it is better for you than red meat. You must have it well done or you can get sick.

It once was the case that pork had to be well done or it could make you sick, but now a days it's actualy safer then beef. I personaly don't like pork rare, because of the way it tastes. IMHO the best way to cook pork, or any other meat for that matter, is on the barbecue.

Fully cooked pork is good. Honestly, I do love BBQ - but not all the whole time. I'd say once a month or so... Actually, I do love pork chops! :D

My sister in-law prefers oven baked meat to barbecue. But for me, Barbecue is king. I like to slowly roast a good rack of pork on the smoker. The sauce goes on for only the very last 10 or 15 minutes.

I love Barbecued Spare Ribs, but I have not mastered them as of yet. I can do a roast, and I can grill a burger or a steak, but spare ribs are a wh ole other matter. When I have a hankering for those, there's a place in Orland, two places in Frankfurt Ill, and a place right down the road from where Ilive. I will learn them some day, but it's going to be a while.

Know any good recipes for doing Spare Ribs on the barbecue?

Not BBQ but a simple, and probably unhealthy, oven bake.

Put boneless roast in baking dish, open can of Campbell's Tomato Bisque soup, pour all over roast and bake until fully cooked.

Crazy good.
