One of my sisters is a crafter extraordinaire, and had a skein of orange yarn that she had no idea what to make with.

I suggested a pumpkin and voila; I have a new pumpkin. :)

It's about 6" tall and 10" wide.

It's her design.

Andy, that's a awesome looking pumpkin.

Murf, I am going to be pretty well set if all goes well. I feel bad for my sister, though. As we both pointed out, condominium associations don't' give people a lot of options for outdoor decorations.

I will let her know, she will enjoy hearing that. :)

She has crocheted and knitted since she was little, but her talents don't end there.

A couple of years ago she found a broken antique spinning wheel which she fixed, and then taught herself how to process wool from the sheep all the way to yarn.

But she will also reuse and recycle.

The teddy bear in this photo is made from three different pair of pure wool, L.L. Bean boot socks that I ruined in the wash. She unraveled them cleaned it and then made me the bear. His hat and sweater are removeable, and he has a red & white knit hat that matches one that she made for me.

She is extraordinary resourceful; like Martha Stewart...but a sweetheart.

If you are famiiar with a series of books called Foxfire, then you know where she's coming from.

I knew a guy who made a banjo based on what he read in the Foxfire books.

Love the bear! Yes, I know the Foxfire books.

Does your sister ever sell on Etsy?

I might be interested in purchasing a few Halloween items from her, too if she does sell online.

She sells occasionally, at craft shows and such.

Mostly she does fiber work as a hobby but she will take requests.

The afghan in the photo is about 50 x 60", made of ridiculously soft acrylic.

Its a light cream color that looks much darker in photos.

I went thrifting this morning because it's a hundred degrees in the shade outside, and this little thing jumped right out at me.

6 inches long 2 and 1/2 inches high and the casket is made of wood and glass, it's nice and heavy and well-made.

I will be doing some thrifting after the 4th. I will also be going on a 'haunted road trip,' too.

Wow Andy your sister is very talented!

I also love the thrift shop finds!

I have not gotten anything for Halloween in a couple years, I may venture out and get somethings, I am having a small Halloween party this year. :D

The local Re-Store is putting out holiday stuff tomorrow, and I want to be first in the door.

Yes, my sister is quite the crafter.

She made this sweater for me last month.
