I found this cute light up pumpkin for a quarter at a yard sale! And also this lady was making some kitchen towels and some were halloween themed. Only cost me 75 cents, it was purple and has a spider on it.
I had to buy batteries for the pumpkin though, and they were expensive! Five bucks because it took watch batteries. But I was happy with the results. My grandmother was like "You couldn't wait for Halloween for that?"
Nope. I just couldn't wait.

At the rate the ecconomy is going, I am probably going toh ave to visit the thrift stores myself. But I would really like to find some really old Halloween decorations from the very early 1900s or late 1800s.

Maybe some antique stores would have those. If you're lucky you might find them in a yard sale or thrift store.
I found another Halloween thing at the Salvation army, it looks like something you can stick a candle in, and it's a little haunted house with ghosts all around it. Some of the ghosts look like they're playing cards.
This is cool because I can find some unique Halloween things that you can't normally find in stores. Plus I get a head start on my collection.

My sister in-law likes to shot at yard sales and thrift stores. She also frequents flea markets and finds a lot of great things. One of the more unique things the found was a ceramic jack o'lantern with a built in strobe light. It takes "AA" batteries, but it works, and the neighborhood ToTers think it's just grand.

I havn't been to a flea market in years, but there are the festivals that come about every year. Although some of those venders are pretty high priced. I suppose they have to make a living somehow. I always thought it might be a fun thing to do someday, be a travelling vender.

I check Craigs List for Halloween stuff. A few months back I got all kinds of stuff from this one lady for $20. It was at least worth $80 or more.

The Craig's list eh? I tried selling my computer on there and I kept getting a bunch of scams.
My dad just bought a bunch of stuff for his truck by looking on Craig's list though.
Now that I think about it, I'll keep this in mind when I get my own place. I could probably get a bunch of stuff by the bulk!

I like to get new stuff, but I also like to improvise. Orange or Yellow smoke bombs are a lot of fun on Halloween and in October.

I wonder if I'd be able to find orange and black smoke bombs.
Only problem I'm worried about is when the ground gets dry and those dry leaves all over the place might be a fire hazard.
Of course, we do get them raked every year, and hopefully I'll be able to use my pumpkin bags I've got left over from previous years.

Whenever you light off fireworks, is't allways a good idea touse common sense. I live in a reasonably wet area, so the leaves won't be a major problem, but I do have to be careful. If you live in a very dry area, like some parts of California where they have major problems with fires, then it's probably not a good idea to play around with fireworks. My house is a 99 year old wooden house, and a misshapp with fireworks could be a disaster. That's why I plan to be sure that my smoking pumpkins are at the very edge of my front year and sitting on a metal plate.

I found a halloween scarf, and a plush witch hat that lights up at a yard sale and also a retro style Halloween note pad.
You never know what you'd find!
At the festival there was something I wanted to get, and if I had my own place I would. It was a homemade Halloween decoration with these ghosts, and wrapped with garland and lights. It looked neat, but if I got it my grandma would've killed me.
Ah well.

Junk shops are great! You know the ones. They have all the chairs or tables or bicycle wheels outside. I have found some great things. Old bottles to use for my witches brew items, wierd garden, car parts that look like they could be used in an old science lab. I bought my antique hospital bed in one for $25.00!!! It has Eastern State Psy. Hospital stamped on the bottom!!!

My friend was 1/2 man 1/2 woman one year, and she bought some ole timey looking mens clothes and an old dress and cut them both in 1/2 and stiched one side of each to the other. She paid something like $10 for the entire costume!

I went to a flea market on Saturday and the only Halloween-thing I found was a witch doll holding a skull.

It was pretty bad so I left it, but it did revv up my enthusiasm for the oncoming season!

Honestly it was bad. If I had had my camera with me I would have taken a pic to show y'all.
