AAAArrrgghh!!!! I've known about this for a week!

Northern California &/or SF Bay area haunters: The tiny town of Pescadero is having a 1-day town rummage sale, tomorrow July 18TH 2009.

Here's a link http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/gms/1274486926.html

I'm going at opening and hope to find some vintage holiday stuff.

I went to all 10 locations of the sale, got a killer sunburn and SCORED!!

I got the 1973, orange cover version of Disney's classic Halloween album with the original paper sleeve with party hints and the vinyl is perfect and unscratched! $2.00!!!! That particular sale was in an 1860 shack that was a treat in itself. Oilcloth floor coverings no walls or doors were straight.

I got 3 Mexican Muertos figures and a flashing plastic pumpkin (it even has fresh batteries).

Not at the sale but from a store closing blow-out I bought a glass JOL ornament and a tiny shopping bag with orange taffy (I ate it all) inside.

it was a great day.

Great find Andy! Wish I had a digital camera to take pictures of the stuff I find!
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

It's my favorite hobby, photography.

I used to know my way around a darkroomm back in the day. Chemical baths, enlargers, dim lighting etc.

Digital has it all over film in my opinion, cheaper too.

Well...I like taking pictures...but I hated photography class in Highschool.
Maybe it's because I didn't like having to take black and white pictures, and then we had to develop them ourselves.
Then we couldn't exactly take pictures of stuff we liked either.
Can it be considered an art? Yes. However...I consider something like drawing and painting as more of an artistic medium involved than just pointing and clicking. But that's just my opinion.
However, if I have a digital camera in my hands, I usually go to town!

Got all of these two years ago. I think someone died by my aunt's house, so they were selling all of her things. Got these, "The Exorcist" and "Helter Skelter" in paperback, and a brown/orange/yellow rug (that I forgot about until just now) all for about $30. So, here are the pictures! Sorry there's so many.

Overall pic (Some was cut off):

Excellent stuff.

I love the 2 ceremic ghosts and the small crates with the witch and black cat cutouts!

This Sunday there's an antique sale up the coast that looks pretty good. I'm going to see what's-what.

Nice! It's amazing some of the things you can find. I just went there with my aunt, not really expecting to find much. And what happens? I find one Halloween item, which ends in quest to search everything in the house. lol Which all of that stuff isn't bad at all for around $30. Oh! And I think I got my one picture there as well. It has a bunch of fall nature scenes on the print and it's all on this giant wooden frame. That one stays up all year 'round.

I passed up several late-1800's photos that would work as Halloween decor, but they were too bland.

The ones I prefer show really mean looking people (they rarely smiled in early photos) or those creepy funeral pix.

I'm a bit of a vinal collector myself. There is a ton of music on vinal that went out of print years ago and was never transfered to CD.

I would love to find a copy of the Disney halloween album in that kind of condition. Unfortunately I live in Illinois, and 2 day rummage sales in California are hard for me to get to.

I went to a yard sale this past weekend and this guy was selling a ton of Halloween props for $100! I wanted to buy them all but couldn't afford it so I bought all of the tombstones he had for $10! He had severed arms, legs, heads, just all kinds of stuff, I hope he will have them still this coming weekend I will check it out and possibly buy more. The tombstones that I got were light up ones, one was an animatronic one (a head pops out of it) and others were just regular foam ones but you can't beat the price that I got them for. I will post pics later I had to put them out in the shed so my kids don't break them! :D

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Checkout your local Dollar Store if you have those where you live. That have some pretty cool decorations for only $1. We have a ton of dollars stores here in Dallas and they all carry different stuff.
