Hidden in the Fall

Post by TheHallow1 » Thu Mar 04, 2010 5:26 pm

Samhain

Hidden in the Fall.
This day is a slowly creeping storm
enveloping the land in darkness.

Hidden in the Fall.
This day is a hand stretching forth
to bring me to nostalgia.

Hidden in the Fall.
This day is the destruction of the barrier
between the seen and unseen.

Hidden in the Fall.
This day is light and dark, yin and yang,
orange harvest and black night.

Hidden in the Fall.
This day is the core of childhood and
the reminiscence in adulthood.

Hidden in the Fall.
This day is a wicked grin on
the face of shadows.

Hidden in the Fall.
This day is a harbored creation of
mischief and delight.

Hidden in the Fall.
This day is my night,
My time,
my nostalgia,
My memory,
my celebration.
Samhain comes now, hidden.

At the risk of encouraging you Sam fixation, I will say that that was very well done.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Way to throw away a compliment...
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

This was nicely done. I really liked the repetition of the first line. Do you write poetry often?
We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.
