Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I certainly hope so. I've been fighting these problems all Summer. I can definately use a break.

I prefer Diet Coke and Diet Papsie and Diet Mountain Dew, but I can't have anything carbonated until next June because of my bypass.

I know you only have to wait about 8 - 9 more months. I know it looks like it's a long time to go, but not bad. ;)

To tell you the truth, I am not so sure I'm even going to want to drink carbonated beverages when I am allowed to drink them. I have grown pretty use to doing without them, and since Mountain Dew is especialy loaded with cafien, I'll probably avoid it.

....
I've been drinking nothing but water for the last 4 months, now when I try to drink a soda it just doesn't taste that good. And if I must have a soda I choose regular instead of diet. There are some new studies going around that suggest that artificial sweeteners may be worse for you than sugar. They confuse the body's ability to regulate calories. I've been told by many people in the health industry to stick to regular soda, just do it in moderation.

Be careful. Crash diets can be harmful in some cases.

I heard those same stories, too but I don't know if I agree. I never suffered any ill affects from drinking diet sodas, but I have noticed that I seem to be healthier since I gave up soda all together. I also remember drinking a Coca Cola once that was sweetened with cane sugar instead of corn syrup, and it was excelent.
