Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Yep. The onset of Football season is definately a sign that Summer is gone. I usualy start to miss it in January, but this particular year, I had the worst summer of my life. I can sum it all up in three words. Gout, Ulcer and Hospital. Gout which put me in escruciating pain, Ulcer which almost caused me to bleed to death, and the Hospital, which is where I spent most of my time in June, July, August and September. I did actualy get to the Indiand Dunes for my Birthday and for a few days of R & R, but all in all, the Summer of 09 STUNK!! I'm GLAD IT'S OVER. But, I will be waiting anxiously for Summer of 10 to begin as the motorcycle bug starts to bite really hard around the 4th of January, and continues to bear down all the way through March.

The good news is, that the new "The Wolf Man" comes out in February, and I will be goina on a very exciting pilgrimage to Israel in March. Usualy by Good Friday, the weather is stable enough that I can get the motorcycle out.

I'm too chicken to ride on the motorcycle because I don't want to get hurt or to get killed. :? But I do love to ride on 3-wheel motorcycle. It's fun!

I do ride all the time, and even in the Winter time on those rare ocassions we have a warm day without ice or snow on the ground. I've also been caught in a lot of rotten weathe, too. I've ridden in rain, sleet, snow, hail, extream heat, and in June of 08, I was barely by the skin of my teeth, mised by a major tornado. It was TEEMING rain, so I stopped at a rest area along I-57, and noticed everyong staring otu the back window. They were starign at a huge F4 tornado that was moving away from us.

About 5 miles of the I-57 coridor was devistated SECONDS after I passed through it.

How's THAT for scary???

As you are now so once was I,

Prepare for death & follow me.

That was crazy, and there's no such thing as viewing a tornado from a safe place, because they're too darn unpredictable. It can be moving away from you one minute, then come right at you the next. I was in defiate fear of my life when I saw that thing. I would die very happy if I NEVER see something like that again.

Well, if you ever should see a tornado up close, I certainly hope it doesn't pick you up and pitch you like a Baseball.

Personaly, I think one in-person sighting of a tornado is quite enough. Esepcialy when I'm on a motorcycle.
