I would love to see Trick or Treat, but all the fear mongering that's going on today will probably kill it off for once and for all. I will be ready for it, though, because as you pointed out, it's 5 months away, and maybe this Covid 19 crises will be over by then.

I hope it occurs. I guess we’ll see in 5 months!

This Covid 19 panic is already waning. I just got home from test driving a new car, and nobody was wearing masks. The grocery stores and Walmart are still being somewhat strict, but not as strict as they were two weeks ago. They did say they were going to re open everything on May 29th, so that's probably why.

Anyway, home high water, Covid 19, Arctic cold, blistering heat or high H. E. Double hockey sticks, I am going to celebrate HALLOWEEN through all of October.

It sure seems that way. I, for one, hope it is. This has been terrible for the world.

I bet movies like "The Omen," and the "Mad Max" franchises are making a bit of a come back. I started screening the original "Planet of the Apes" movies tonight.

ToT is not dying around here, and I expect to see kiddos on Oct 31.

I would love to rent an RV for the Western trip, but they say everyone else is doing that, too, so RVs will be hard to find. I am hoping to make the trip with my sons, both of whom are Eagle Scouts who have been on high adventure trips with Scout troops. I think we are likely to camp in tents throughout the West. That would be a true Lewis and Clark homage!

I devoured Stephen Ambrose's Undaunted Courage years ago. It is a bio of Meriwether Lewis. Lewis never married and has no direct descendants, though there is plenty of family through his siblings. He died in TN and is buried on the Natchez Trace, near Hohenwald. I have visited his grave.

Interesting about Lewis. She said she was related, perhaps a great niece or something. Unfortunately I can’t ask her.

I'm beginning to think that ToT just might happen after all. I'm always optimistic about Halloween.

There's a post on Facebook that is raffling off a brand new RV. I wouldn't mind winning that. The 'haunted road trips' I could take in that thing! But I bet it would be expensive to store, maintain, insure and the fuel costs would be astronomical. It's an 8 wheel drive diesel pusher (converted bus).

The Lewis & Clark trip sounds like a lot of fun. I bet there are some very creepy places along the way that would make for interesting photo opps.

My son is asking me to plan the trip this week so we can reserve camp sites, etc.

I expect that real estate agent is a collateral Lewis descendant. There are for sure some of those.

Be careful when you get to the end of the trail, you may not want to leave.

If you can, i recommend a quick look around of the Lewis & Clark College campus https://images.app.goo.gl/BXmoQBTtnxAFHQN26 .

And if you can avoid it, steer clear of the rest of Portland.

Political unrest, don't ya know.

Also, Halloweentown was filmed in St. Helens Oregon, not far from Portland. https://images.app.goo.gl/X6cKhtmbEPgyfKBX7 .

Last but not least, Astoria, Oregon( also Portland-adjacent) is worth a visit.

Founded by the Astor family to headquarter their timber concerns in the PNW, it is home to some Victorian gems .https://images.app.goo.gl/ruHm2Gtx2gL39Jn38

Also the Goonies house.

I'll be happy just to get to Green Lake Wisconsin this Summer. I certainly will NOT be visiting any large cities, however as everything seems to be up for grabs. Seattle Washington is like a "Mad Max" movie. A cop in New York was poisoned and another one (I don't remember what city or town) was deliberately run over with a car. He didn't die, but will be in a wheel chair for the rest of his life.

I tell you, real life can be quite scary.

You are right.

The lawlessness of Seattle is just disgusting. Protest, fine. Riot, loot, destroy people and their livelihoods, that is evil and wrong. Divide people by skin color, calling everyone of a particular skin color racist is also evil and wrong. That is just spreading hate and division.

The governor and mayor should be ashamed of themselves, but one hopes that they end up doing the right thing before Halloween or it will seriously mess up trick-or-treating for people in that area. Not somewhere I'd recommend anyone go.

Thanks for those beautiful links, Andy!

I will take everyone's advice to heart. Certainly a good summer to avoid the cities.

Yeah, no kidding. Just donated blood this morning, was thinking of Dracula. Lol.

Not in a big city.
