I think Easter doesn't get as big a celebration as Christmas because it is a "movable feast," so the date is not fixed the way Christmas is. Also, of course, there is not the big tradition of gift-giving, although my mother always gave me gifts at Easter, sort of like a mini-Christmas. But most people don't do that. (I carried on that tradition with my own kids and lived to regret it--Easter comes up pretty fast after Christmas, and the gifting can get expensive!)
Even though Christmas has religious significance, a great many people who celebrate it are not really keeping the holiday religiously. I think Easter is celebrated primarily by people who keep it religiously. Of course, there are still "fun" aspects to it, like Easter egg hunts, etc.
