Make Your P-Kin Last

Do you have a special way to carve a pumpkin?

I like the "freeze drying" idea. I was wondering if there was a way you could just preserve it by drying it out. Pumpkins technically are a vegetable, and any vegetable can be dried out.
I've got a dried out gourd that we had to make markings on for Art class back in highschool o.o
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

Giving this old thread a little nudge because I saw it mentioned.

I was going to post this little advice I found about preserving pumpkins, but now I can't find it. If I do I'll post it here.

I did however find an interesting science experiment someone did to see how long a pumpkin could be preserved through various methods, and I think the results are surprising. However if you're easily grossed out by the site of mold, I wouldn't recommend looking at it. lol. http://www.myscienceproject.org/pumpkin.html
