Creative Ways to Light a Jack O'Lantern

Do you have a special way to carve a pumpkin?

And see the Jack O'Lantern's face go from being scary to one of intense pain caused by heat exposure!
The thing about Dallas is that the fireplace usually doesn't get used until maybe December or later. October is not typically a chilly month. That big pumpkin is going to be just fine :)
That's ok then! :)

iHaunt, that sounds awesome! :)

Might be fun to try and make it look like the jack-o-lantern is trying to crawl out of the chimney. :)

That's a great idea! Maybe also spewing pumpkin guts too? :)

That would require a real pumpkin. I should get a bag (like Santa's toy bag) and fill it with body parts and have it lying by the chimney and have it look like the pumpkin monster just threw it out before he started climbing out. The bag is full of the people who used to live in that house

I may climb up on the roof this weekend like a weirdo and see if this is even feasible. Something that just now occured to me is how would I light that? The jack would be lit of course, but that wouldn't cast enough light to show the arms or the bag o' victims. Suggestions?

A small spotlight beaming down from the chimney acting like the moon?

Hmm, that's a thought. I'll have to see how I could rig that up.

The strobe crossed my mind. But mine have been put away for some time now. I read somewhere that strobes can trigger seizures for people with epilepsy. Since I have no idea if any of my visitors are epileptic, I'd just rather not take the chance.

Heck, just plop them down into an electric chair prop and let them go.
