Do you have a special way to carve a pumpkin?

I believe it can be found at Wal-Mart, Party City, Michaels or anywhere else.

Not sure how valuable my input is on the subject since I only carve the artificial pumpkins, but I actually really like the Dremel. I used it on a pumpkin that had Gobber from How to Train Your Dragon on it. I probably would not have been able to do the detail work required on his moustache and his helmet without it. I also used it on a Headless Horseman design. It does make a mess--I had pumpkin dust going everywhere and I had to wear a mask and glasses while using it. I actually have a cord attachment for mine that lets me use it without holding the clunky Dremel itself. Takes a little getting used to but I can't say anything bad about it :)

I tried, but my camera isn't very good--takes great pictures of cut-out pumpkins, but lousy pics of the shaded ones. I think it's because of the diminished glow :(

The link you sent me really helped me though! Basically what I did was cut out the horns, the spikes, and the little round bolt things on his helmet. Then I shaded the inside of it (I left some outlines on the helmet intact for definition). I cut out the lines on his face and jaw and also the whites and pupils of his eyes. Then I shaded the moustache, his eyebrows and his furry vest (I left parts of that intact though for definition as well). The moustache is what really made it look cool. Thank you again for the links to the pics, Jade--you totally saved me on this project!

I decided to give the Dremel a miss in the end. I'll stick with the Jigsaw knives. :)

I feel really dumb asking, but what are jigsaw knives? Are they like the little serrated knives you can buy in pumpkin carving kits?

They are like serrated knives, either electric or handheld.

I've never used a power tool on a pumpkin. It wouldn't feel right, kind of like drive-in churches. It would be too 'remote', if that makes sense? :?
