Carnivals

Post by DemonSlayerMau » Sat May 16, 2009 12:26 am

I went to the Carnival today....well...yesterday actually considering it's after midnight now. And it was quite a bit of fun. I got to ride some pretty cool rides, which was a bit unexpected because for a long time the carnivals seem to have gone down hill, but I really think they had some cool rides. They had one that looked and felt like a hang glider (although I never actually went hang gliding but it looks like fun) and there was one that went upside down...and then I went on the ferris wheel. I had three tickets after that, and the only rides I could ride on were kiddy rides...evidently they wouldn't let me ride on the Merry Go Round...so I decided to give them to a mother who had a little girl. It made be mildy annoyed and I didn't really understand his reasoning for why. I assumed it was because I didn't have a little kid with me. It's kind of like that awkward feeling one may have if they are out trick or treating when they are old enough to have kids themselves...but don't. Still, the Merry Go Round I always figured was appropriate for all ages.
I hadn't really been to the Carnival since I was a kid. It was kind of expensive though, but the rides I got to go on were worth it.
My friend and I also visited a couple yard sales and ate some funnel cake, I had italian sausage and fries, I love getting those at festivals and other events like that.
I found a nightmare before Christmas car that looks like a hotwheels car of sorts that I just had to have. It has a tiny jack skellington in the driver's seat, with a bat on the back of it. The car is shaped like a coffin.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

I love rides! It's dumb that they wouldn't let you go on the merry go round. :?

As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

I can't go on a lot of rides because of my size. My big butt just won't fit in the seat. I really miss riding roller coasters. One of the first things I am going to do next Sumer, after I've lost 80 or 90 percent of the weight I need to lose, is go ti 6 Flags Great America and take a ride on the American Eable roller coaster. Then I am going to ride on a few others as well.

Sounds like a plan Pumpkin Man! They don't have roller coasters at carnivals but they did have an assortment of cool rides at the one I went to.
And you're right RDM, it was pretty dumb they wouldn't let me on the merry go round. I didn't even understand the guy, most of the ride operators looked like they were mexican.
Here's a couple pictures from on top of the ferris wheel. I always enjoy the view when I ride a ferris wheel. My friend was goofing off on it too, and he started to rock the darn seat, and I had to point out to him that you weren't supposed to. But he still goofed off and he made the ride operator laugh.

I also love to ride on a Ferris Wheel, too. I don't goof around, though because I have a tiny problem with heights. Not big enough problem to prevent me from going up on a ladder or ride on a ferris wheel, but I certainly don't look diwn and I don't lke it if that seat stats to rock.

I don't know if you have ever been to Disney or not, but they use to have the COOLEST over-head cable cars I'v eve been on. They tore it down because it was deemed unsafe, but I really hope they decide to bring it back. That was a nice relaxing ride, as was the Wedgway People mover.

I like nice, calm, safe rides like overhead gondolas or water rides.

I will ride in roller coasters, but none that loop or go upside-down.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

I love all roller coasters. There's one at 6 Flags Great America that you stand up on. That's another one I want to ride when my weight comes down.

But I also like a nice calm, slow, relaxing ride. The Wedgway People Mover and the Haunted Mansion at Disney are a couple of my favorites.
