Dumb Laws from other countries!

Post by iHaunt » Sat Apr 10, 2010 6:30 pm

In Italy, it is illegal to make coffins out of anything, except nutshells or wood.

In Philippines, it is against the law to be cremated with a living creature in a pocket of your clothing.

In Switzerland, it is illegal for banks to refuse a vault owner to be able to store their dead relatives as long as the storage doesn't exceed 7 months.

In France, it is illegal to die unless a cemetary plot has first been bought.

Since 1173, it has been illegal to die in Venice, Italy.

So am I gonna be arrested if I suddenly die during a vacation in France?

That explains the skeletons always seen in dungeons.
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

The entire Encyclopedia Britannica is banned in Texas because it contains a formula for making beer at home.

When I was in high school, my older teacher told me about this story.... yes, that's true.

For example, in Iraq or anywhere in Middle East countries and someone is getting caught with alcohol beverages, any kind of all..... they will be arrested and put in jail for 30 days. Silly, isn't it???

That's what you get when you live in a theocracy. The Muslim religion prohibits the imbibing of alcohol, and many Middle Eastern countries have a legal system based on Sharia Law, or the Islamic principles of how Muslims should live.

When a government codifies the laws of a religion, and adopts them for an entire nation, that is when you see the true destruction of freedom.

Well, no one is truly free. When you think you own a house, you really don't because if you don't pay your taxes, it gets taken away. Same with driving, you own a car and if you get pulled over and you have a warrant, they take your car. Really, we own nothing if you think about it.

It's a catch 22...a conundrum. You have the freedom to say "I won't pay for that car" and then they have the freedom to come and take it away ha ha ha...but if I want to get up and move to somewhere else I have the freedom to do so...but are you really 'free'? No...and you never will be.

Exactly, I just found out about homesteading and in the state of Nevada they can still take your house if you don't pay your property tax, if you do a remodel and you don't pay the contractor, or a mechanic that works on your car, they can do a lien. If you outright own your home and land, they shouldn't be able to take it away from you, that is stealing.
