My cats love Temptations treats and I buy them all the time, but I've never seen Halloween-themed cat treats at my grocery.
Statistically, I think there are more pet cats than dogs in the US, but that's because most cat owners have more than one, due in part to that "cat distribution system." We wouldn't have any cats at all if they didn't just show up at our house. My husband says we must have a kitty hobo sign in our carport. By contrast, I have never seen a stray dog in the 30 years I've lived here. Once in a blue moon someone's pet might get out, but the owner is always out looking for it in that case.
As a child I thought seasonal costumes for pets were cute, but my mother very much discouraged that. She said animals don't like being dressed up, and that it was really just for the owners. That animals should be allowed to be animals. So I've never tried it. I've never even been able to keep a collar on a cat. The ones I own won't tolerate that.

You're delusional that humans 'own' cats...they rule us.

Mau, I just now clicked on one of your links. Those Mix-ups are the very type I buy! My cats love them. But so far I haven't seen the Halloween label.

Fresh at Safeway this morning.
Also, I've had a St*rb*cks gift card in my wallet for over 2 years, so the pumpkin spice latte was basically free.

If it weren't the fact that there are fresh homegrown pumpkins at my sisters, I would have bought several.

I haven't been there in months, but I read on line last night that Michael's is doing Summerween all-in this year, starting I guess in July. At least five different iterations. One of them is based on Mean Girls, which means very little to me. But some of the other themes could be interesting.

I will check out Michael's and see what's going on with that.
Regarding this thread, our weather has been in the low 50s and raining!
I'm watching the Munsters channel on the Samsung streaming channel.

Our humidity is ungodly high, and we're having hot weather to boot this week, mostly mid 90s. But, hey, it's summer in the South. That's what we sign up for here.

Speaking of the south, I found a copy of the d v d of Ken Burn's 'Civil War', and have been watched it.
I forgot what a masterpiece it is.

Ah, yes, we have that one, too.
At recent family reunions I've learned that Shelby Foote (the Southern historian prominently featured) was best friends in high school with my uncle. My father's family grew up in Greenville, MS, and so did Foote (also Walker Percy, a well known novelist, was part of that friend group). Kinda neat.
Burns has a new documentary slated to come out about the American Revolution, to celebrate its 250th anniversary. I do hope that's equally good.

I think I would have enjoyed a cigar and a bourbon with the late Mr. Foote.

He charmed a lot of people in that series. I've forgotten how many marriage proposals he got out of it, though I think he was a much-married man.
The uncle he was friends with is the one who served as ambassador to Ireland under JFK. My cousin has a letter from Foote to his father, congratulating him on that appointment and saying, "Can you believe how far we've come from where we started?"
Shelby Foote was a distant cousin of Horton Foote's, I believe. He was a Texan and the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Tender Mercies. IIRC, he also wrote the screenplay for To Kill a Mockingbird, for which he may also have won an Oscar for adaptation. And, as a footnote, I went to grad school with Harper Lee's nephew, who went to college with my ambassador uncle's son.
That's the way it is in the South, at least if you've lived here for enoughn generations. Everybody is 6 degrees or less from everybody else.

...shouldn't that have been a 'Foote-note'?
As far as six degrees of separation, it's the same all over.
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. However, my parents are from the upper midwest so that makes me 'new'.
