IMDB says Bill Murray is playing a zombie... Nice cameo, but it kinda feels like a waste of talent...

And thanks for the link to the zombifier!!

I just watched a promo on TV for this one. I am not sure about it. I mean, it looks sort of stupid. Did I just see a stupid trailor or is this sort of a comedy? I am all about some zombies, but this one? I am not sold yet.

Brandon Kelm, the Operations Manager and Technical Director saw "Zombieland" last night.

He said that the Hundred Acres Manor's marketing teamed up with Zombieland last weekend. They handed out passes to a sneak preview of Zombieland, as well as some pretty cool schwag. The screening was last night and a bunch of their crew went to see it.

Overall, freaking hilarious. Woody is awesome in the movie and Jessie Eisenberg (from the recent movie "Adventureland") was pretty good too. He fit the roll perfectly. Plenty of blood and random slayings, the makeup was good and the storyline was half decent. Most movies that open up with Metallica - "For Whom The Bell Tolls", generally end up alright. ;)

Their crew all had a great time and they've pretty decided they're all going to pay to see it again when it officially comes out.

Well, I'm sure I'll rent DVD the day it comes out as well.

Guess what??? This movie will be out in all theaters right now!!!

Zombieland - The walking dead again. They, abviously, are not going to be allowed to rest in peace. This effort at comedy, perhaps more so than horror, features an apparently desperate Woody Harrelson as a zombie killer who yearns, most of all, for a Hostess snack cake. Jesse Eisenberg is the requisite "kid" who narrates it throughout the 80 minutes. Emma Stone is the con woman who cons them.

I'll post more info tomorrow or the next day.... maybe next week. ;)

Romero also has a new one coming out. There was a time when news of a new Romero zombie movie would have made me pee myself. Now, I doubt I'll even bother to rent it when it hits dvd. Kind of a shame, really.

Anybody seen Zombieland yet?? Post a review!!

My review:

I enjoyed this movie thoroughly. Definitely had more than a few LOL moments. In contrast to the dry British humor of 'Shaun of the Dead', 'Zombieland' is much more in your face. Some one-liners that are destined to become classics. "Time to nut up or shut up!" The movie features lots of gore but not a lot of scares, and tons of action. Another plus is the many pop culture references from the last 20 years or so. Watch for the hilarious cameo by a very well known person, at least to us older folks. I love that the little girl didn't know who he was. Makes me feel so darn old.

I conclude this review with my Zombie Plan. When the zombie apocalypse comes my first move will be to head down to the marina, find a good size yacht that doesn't need a large crew, stock it with plenty of food, fuel and DVDs, and head out to sea. Hopefully, some day, find an island that is infection free. Still need to find a couple cute girls to accompany me. Any takers? It is our duty to rebuild the human race after all.

PS: Somebody really needs to write down the Zombieland Rules. Those could come in handy.
