How very sad.

I have little use for material possessions (holiday decorations being the one exception).

Not me. I'm extremely tactile. I love things.

I think that is because you don't believe in life after death. This one chance is all you think there is.

That may be, although I've always liked things even when I was far too young to have formed ideas or opinions on the afterlife.

I get a few free magazine subscriptions, but when those pile up too high, I give them to my sister. I can't stand the clutter.

Animal Planet now has an animal hoarders show. I watched a few minutes of it Saturday night, as that was all I could take. It was so sick and sad. This guy must have had around 200 cats and his house was completely destroyed ... there was cat urine everywhere. A formerly white couch, as well as the other furniture, was brown, the walls were stained, and the carpets soaked and dirty. Seeing the kitchen was what was the last straw for me ... all the appliances were caked in urine. I didn't watch enough of it to learn his story, but I'm assuming his house would have to be condemned.

I saw and Animal Cops episode like that once. The man had 117 cats. Over 100 dead ones found in various parts of the house, including under his bed and in his pantry.

I get a little queasy when it's time to empty the cat box but a WHOLE HOUSE??! Gross.

They're beyond having to empty the litter box since the entire house has become one giant one.

Odd that I am reading ( and writing) this post because I can't sleep and I turned on that tv show Hoarding.

I really can sympathize for these people somewhat. I attach emotional bonds to things. I don't have rooms and MOUNDS of <deleted>, but I have a hard time letting go of some things. I still have a pair of earrings I wore to my highschool graduation! (1988)

I did have a yard sale this spring. Let go of alot of stuff. Mostly kids toys and other random things. Made $400 for a sumer vaca!

Makes it worth it!
