I'm not feeling very celebratory this year. I think the political season has bummed me out. However, I am reading through the Federalist Papers & rereading the Constitution.
My daughter is very enthusiastic about the Broadway show Hamilton. She had me sit down and listen to the whole CD while reading the libretto. Rather to my surprise (because I am not a rap music fan), I found that I really liked it. It is brilliantly well written and very affecting, too. But I don't think I could have caught all the words without reading along.

They were talking about Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr on the radio this morning. Wouldn't it be awesome if these two doofuses could settle their differences the same way? Duel at dawn!

I binged the entire John Adams mini series recently.
So well done.
I'm conflicted about the Hamilton show. I prefer period music.
Those darn kids and their historically accurate hip-hop.
GET OFF MY LAWN!
I put one of these out for the summer.
Aluminum pail, sand, 12 small flags surrounding one medium size parade flag.
Yes, it's from Martha Stewart.

If only! Lol
Andy, that is a lovely display.
I don't own the Adams mini-series, though I did view it a few years back. I read the McCullough bio on which it is based. The book is even better than the TV series.

McCullough could write a auto part installation manual and it would be a dynamic, engrossing read.

And...if he read the audio book, it would instill feelings of both calm and a deep sense of pride for being an American.

I looked back and followed your link to that any flag site. There are several historic flags there which I would like to have! What a neat site.

I fly a 'Betsy Ross' on the holidays, but I need a new one.
I buy American when I can.
Any Flag for regalia, Anchor Hoking instead of Pyrex.
Ruger not Winchester...

I'll have to ask my husband about Ruger vs Winchester. I have no opinion on that subject, but he might.

Winchester has outsourced a lot of work to foreign countries.
My brother is as 'murican as you can be, more so than me.

I just think it's cool that there are two US flags in this photo. Proud to be a murican!
