Yep, the past 2 years we've had it pretty sweet with Halloween being ont he weekend, but this year it's on a Monday. I am still going to take the day off, however. It is possible they may decided to do ToT on the Saturday or Sunday before, but I am still going to take the day off.

The next time Halloween will be on a Saturday will be 2015, but the bad news is, that 2016 is a leap year, so Halloween will jump right over to Monday.

I'm expecting to have slightly less Trick or Treaters than last year due to it being on a Monday. I've booked the day off work too. Hopefully we all still get a great turn out! :D

At the center of the neighborhood was a good sized duck pond, and it kinda served as a midway point for everyone passing through. When we went through there, it was cramped, shoulder to shoulder, for a few blocks. I'd guess that there were at least 800 to 1000 people walking around then. But in recent years since I've given up the trick or treating to the younger folks, I've noticed less people ToT'ing. Maybe 10, 15 groups came in 2009.
Good god; I think I have shoes older than you.

Thanks!! It's a picture of my cat that I took when I pulled out my candy corn wreath last week. Apparently she loves candy corn.

Can I just say that I wish all of you were my neighbors? It sucks being the only yard haunter/decorator for as far as the eye can see. It's a lonely business :( I need more of my people in the area.

I know how you feel. I'm the only one in my area too.

I live in England, a couple of my neighbours carve a Jack O'Lantern, but i'm the only one who puts up decorations & everything.

Sadly, I don't put up a huge yard display. I'm more extravigant about inside decorations, but on Halloween I have a jack o'lantern or two, and my headless biker to greet the ToTers.

You don't do haunt yard display? You always keep everything in the house? So have you been done with yard display in the front yard before? Well, you know me and my girfriend won't decorate so much everything outside b/c we are going to her friend's Halloween party next month. We will only carve 2 or 3 pumpkins to put outside on front porch plus Halloween lights only. :? My grandpa will be at home alone giving out candies. :D I would think about putting a few tombstones and props on porch. ;)

Tombstones do rock! I've bought a couple extra this year to add to the two I had before. My tombstone collection is slowly growing year on year! :)

I love the tombstones as well. I think I have around 14 or 15. They look really eerie if they are illuminated with blue flood lights. If they are pointed just right at the tombstones, it casts the creepiest shadows :P

I used to decorate inside a little things, but a lot whole things outside! Sadly, I won't decorate for this Halloween b/c me and my girlfriend will go to her best friend's house for Halloween party plus give out candy to toters. :D But, still I only will put up the lights and JOLs on the front porch so my grandpa will sit there to give out candy. :D
