We are cold here, too, but not that cold.

I still have the retro tinsel tree up, that i found while thrifting last Christmas.
This weekend I will switch out the heart decorations for some really cool Easter egg ones that I found online.

That's a beautiful decoration, Andy. Maybe I should go thrifting for holiday decorations.
Murf, we got up to a nice 'balmy' 16 degrees today. Luckily the weather report is calling for temps to be above freezing by Monday. I'll believe that when I see it.

Love your Valentine tree, Andy!
Five days a week I take a 30-min stroll through my neighborhood. On a neighboring street, someone has had a skeletal T-rex on their front porch since Halloween. At Christmas it had reindeer antlers. Last week it had one of those Valentine's headbands with the stand-up hearts.

Lol!
There is a house on the next block over and in the front yard they have a little Stone statue.
It's a skeleton of the Buddha sitting cross-legged and looking contemplative.
This past Christmas he had a little Santa Claus hat on.

Once in a while when I'm out and about I see a forgotten Christmas or Halloween decoration here and there. I remember one house where they put up an elaborate yard haunt for Halloween, then for some reason they moved out and left everything set up. That yard haunt sat there over a year, and nobody lived in that house.

We have a house like that on my walk, too, Mike. Elaborate yard haunt with headstones, skeletons, etc. It is still up. I know from previous years that they will leave it up until June. Then they will dismantle it completely, only to erect it again a few days before Halloween. I have no idea why they leave it up so long, or why they even bother to take it down for the summer, but that's what they do, year after year.
This is not the same house with the skeletal T-rex. Not even the same street.

That sounds crazy, but maybe the people in that house have an affinity for Halloween, though my Halloween decorations come down on the 3rd of November. They go up usually on the 30th of September, but last Halloween I was still 'recovering' from my move and moving expenses, so they didn't get put up until mid October. I hope to have something for the front yard for next Halloween.
As for the house I was referring to, it was a very elaborate yard haunt, and then the house was vacated. I have no idea where the people in that house moved to, or why they didn't come back for their Halloween decorations. When the new owners moved in, they kept those decorations and used them every October for themselves. I probably would have done the same thing.

Oh, I would have kept the decorations, too.

So would I. Halloween decorations can get expensive, and everything I use to have, including some vintage Halloween decorations that I had since I was a little kid were destroyed in that fire 5 years ago. So I'm hoping to find older decorations at the various thrift stores,as well as buy some new ones for the effect.

Sorry about your collection! I know that was a big loss.

Live and learn. Things have been steadily improving, and I will have more decorations for my haunt by October.

I don't really need any more decorations for Halloween or Christmas, but I do add something every year. This Halloween I added a Jack Skellington, and a skeletal dog to go along with the full-sized skeleton I'd bought the year before. The kids loved that the skeletal man had a pet.

I think one of the coolest Halloween decorations I ever saw, was a so
uped up hearse, and I mean this thing had stacks coming out the hood, and it was parked on the street outside the owners house, and on the front seat was seated a skeleton at the wheel with spiked driving gloves on and a baseball cap worn backwards, and a skeleton in the front seat dressed in a skimpy woman's outfit and an ear ring duct taped to the side of her skull where her ear was supposed to be. The guy skeleton had one hand on the wheel and the other on the bony knee of the girl skeleton.

I love that kind of display! There is so much humor in it.
We are fortunate to live near a street where a number of houses do things like that every year. I am always amazed by the creativity those folks display.
