It makes sense from a business standpoint, as customers will most likely buy a product on impulse that they weren't thinking about until it was placed in front of them. Also, the faster that a store puts out, and moves their inventory, it reduces the amount of stock that they will eventually have to discount after X holiday has passed.

The best thing about getting bags of holiday themed candy as soon as it's released from the factory is the taste, nothing, and I mean nothing tastes better than a freshly made Reese's peanut butter cup. So it's always smart to get the earliest released seasonal candy because you know it was made recently, and hasn't been sitting there for a year.

Man, those things are good, and almost everyone loves them. Not my daughter, though. She likes chocolate and she likes peanut butter, but not together. Go figure. More for the rest of us.

It isn't? I'm no connoisseur, wasn't crazy about it as a kid. But both my daughter and my 2nd son appear to be "super tasters.," so believe me, if there's anything the least bit off about any food, they'll know instantly. Karl does eat Reeses, though.

Im still having fun with my new stand mixer.

Today's effort was double chocolate oatmeal cookies using unsweetened cocoa powder and semisweet milk chocolate chips.


The outsides are crispy and the interiors melt in your mouth.
