I went to a Big Lots here in Los Angeles the other day, and AHA~! They had started putting out their Halloween goodies. I even saw a couple of things that looked pretty good!
There is a chain called "Party City" selling party supplies, there are various locations out here (maybe some exist near you?) and this place has yielded an interesting variety of little trinket-type goodies and decorations--they are big on costumes too, if you are looking for that. I am interested to see what they have when their stuff comes out.

I went into my local fancy dress shop and he said they wouldn't be getting anything in until late September! Ah well, at least I have the internet...
