Halloween Discussion Forums, Costumes, Horror!

The Big Lots and Dollar Tree here will have their Halloween stuff out this week or the next. They always do by late July or early August.

With that hot blast we had last weekend, hopeful more people will be thinking fall and how they're planning on decorating this year.

So, what are you planning to do and work on this year?

We were thinking about making a life size scarecrow that we can put a real lit pumpkin head on. We might, however, just be lazy and buy one of the reapers from Spirit Halloween.com LOL!

I have tomorrow and friday off for a long weekend and since my roomies are out of town I'm having myself a little prep weekend for the upcomong season.

I didn't make it to the antique sale I had posted about, so knowing my luck, it was chock full of Halloween goodies...

Our apartment is on the first floor of a walkup on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, with a large window facing the street, and I would love to put together a cool Halloween display in our window -- complete with mini-animatronics, orange string-lights, and other decorations -- like many residents out in Queens and Brooklyn. My girlfriend and the other co-op residents, however, don't seem to share my affection for Halloween... Fascists!!!

Well day after tomorrow it's August. Still hoping for more people posting!

The weather 'round here has been so Autumnal that I need to remind myself it's still summer.

I spent yesterday clearing some brush around one of the barns and it was cool and sunny. The drive down to the disposal site is through some ancient trees and very secluded.

My over-active imagination kicked in and I imagined all sorts of things lurking around the trees.

I just accepted a new teaching job today. I am really scared of change. Moving not just schools but counties. I will be teaching in my kids school. Great opprotunity. Still, I am leaving some great friends. My best friends.
It has been on my mind for a couple of days. That is all that has been on my mind.
Fall. Isn't Fall fantastic!

Hot August or Fall August here!!! What do you say???

Well, it's still hot out here in August! I believe I will smell October Fall in November because I am living near the beach in VA.

It will stay hot here until Halloween. It will be hot Halloween day but by that time the nights will be cooling down. I would give anything for it to cool down earlier but it won't.

Same here... still hot until the end of October. I knowthe temperature will drop down around 60-70s in November.

Our Michael's has put out the Halloween village display which has gotten me to thinking about autumn and cooler temps - it's been at least 100 every day for more than a month and we still probably have another month of these temps to deal with - so I kinew it was time for me to come back here because this place helps me to get in the mood.
