Happy Independence Day to all. I had a great time with fireworks yesterday! Loud records and grilled burgers.

Great photo, Andy! That house even looks creepy in and of itself. I love those old homes!

Posting just to say I'm here, I'm back. I got locked out several yrs ago for some reason, and didn't know what to do about it. But yesterday, for the first time in forever, I was able to log in. I hope the folks who remember me are still out there. I've missed you all!

Next year will be 30 years since this site came online.

I have been here for15 years (how is that possible?)

I hope he can keep the servers on forever, or at least until the 30th anniversary.

I'm looking forward to the anniversary, I know that I'll be here.

As for how long the website and forums will be around, I guess it depends on how long the domain is registered for. It makes me wonder if anyone has ever archived this website on the Wayback Archive?

Oh, I'd be so sad if this site went away! I've just now gotten in again!

The forums should be around for a long time, as I think he renewed the domain a few years ago, so it should be good for about 10 years, and if he set it up for auto renewal then we have even longer.

Well, it's late, or early depending on how you look at it, so I went and did some research and found out some interesting information.

Halloween.com was first registered on August 30, 1994, so that is the official date of the anniversary. Chris aka HalloweenCom, the owner of this website, is considered to be a internet pioneer, as he registered a whole bunch of popular domain names at the beginning of the internet. While he hasn't been here in awhile, he is still around, as he was posting on his own website last year.

I also have some great news, the domain for Halloween.com doesn't expire until August 29, 2032. So the website and forums will be around for awhile.

Of course, there are a few possible reasons why the website could still close one day. Like if Chris just decides to close it, or if the hosting servers go, or if the world just ends. But until one of those scenarios happens, Halloween.com is here to stay, so when the anniversary gets here we can celebrate!

Great sleuthing. HH!!

The Archive Project has to be the most ambitious project in human history.

I liken it to the Global Seed Vault in Norway.

It's likely then, that the post-apocalyptic world will be populated by over-fed blonde people who never lose at Trivial Pursuit. :)
