Oh that's so funny you brought that up Andybev01. My dad grew up in holland and LOVES that candy. I'd have to say it is the nastiest stuff I've ever tasted.

I agree....that stuff is nasty. Didn't care too much for popcorn balls either...

Anything that is sticky or could melt in your TOT bag is too much trouble, including candied apples.

I hated those peanut butter candies when I was a kid. The soft chews that had pb in the middle. Now that I am a big kid I like them. Nostalgic.

I got a cupcake from a lady who's house smelled like cat pee once. I wasn't allowed to eat it, not that I wanted too. Just a random memory.

Worst kind now? Hard candy. I don't want hard candy for Halloween! Give me chocolate or some creamy chews!

I know I'm in the minority but I hate Milky Ways and Three Musketeers. I can't eat chocolate without nuts or pretzels.

I love those Sugar Daddy pops, even though they take like an hour to eat.

I never cared for black licorice. I'm also not a big fan of chewy candies like now and later or tootsie rolls. I don't mind the taste of now and laters, but they can be so hard and then they're chewy and they stick to your teeth.
Popcorn balls are ok I think. I've had rice balls before and they're hard to chew. Of course, this was at Christmas time, not Halloween.
I can't remember if I ever got a popcorn ball or not...I've seen the ones at the stores. I'm not a fan of sweet popcorn so I doubt I'd like popcorn balls. I rather just have butter and salt on mine, or cheese. I wonder if you could make an unsweet popcorn ball with butter and or cheese? XD
I'm a little leery of homemade candy in general. Unless I actually know the person who made the candy, I wouldn't accept homemade candy from a stranger, simply because you never know what they might've put in there.
I know my cousin found a razor blade once, cut her tongue. And that can really ruin one's Halloween spirit. Even worse would be if someone poisoned the candy. I don't know if the candy was homemade or not, I just remember that she told me once.
Now, I'm sure all the people here are honest, respectable people who wouldn't do such a thing; but it is something I'm very cautious of.
This is also a reason I probably wouldn't hand out homemade candy, I wouldn't want to do such a thing, but in the perspective of the trick or treater or his or her parents, they don't know that. Of course, this is a small neighborhood too, and it's easy to get to know people here. Or at least know of them or who they are, even if it's just knowing their face.
Now, I do quite enjoy homemade candy, and wouldn't mind making it for myself, family and friends, I just wouldn't go through the effort to make it for trick or treaters, not only for that reason, but I'm too lazy to go through the effort to do this for a complete stranger that I'm just going to hand it to. Especially if they're as cautious as I am and would just throw it away anyway. It's doubtful they'd even appreciate the effort. A lot of kids these days (not saying all, just saying a lot of them) are spoiled and aren't old enough to appreciate the simple things in life anyway.

Let y'all know when I was 11 with my friends out tricking or treating... we got a snack "Lance Toast Chee" crackers, you know? It's not a CANDY bar, it's a cheese crackers with peanut butter! But I love it anyway!

Anyway... who is the bubble gum lovers here? Well, I used to chew bubble gums before and now I don't chew anymore. I am chewing snuff.

I know there are plenty of Halloween bubble gums, like small ball-shaped size, you know? Jack O' Lantern, Skull, Ghost, etc.

I need gum at work. It's like a stress relief thing.
