Those magazines look like some good reads! I wish the local stores here had them already...

I got so excited in the movie store yesterday because I spotted a Halloween magazine. Yet you can imagine my disappointment when I realized it was a Martha Stewart's Halloween magazine. No offense to any Marthians, but I think she's very much responsible for the recent softening of Halloween night. Still don't know why my movie store carries Martha's rags, though.
And yes, every new trip to the dollar store, I sweep up another couple Halloween goodies (recently, a Skull mug, and sound effect CD entitled "Sounds from the Crypt").

I haven't bought anything yet. I did see a lot of things at Marshall's and Target yesterday. I don't know if I really need anything knew, isn't it ok to keep using the old stuff if it is in good shape? i will probably wait until the end of September IF I buy anything. Time will tell.

I was pretty happy today when I bought my first offical halloween item of the year

I purchased a book on Halloween crafts...I run a "daycare" twice a week so I figured I'm going to try to reinstall the halloween spirit in my town and get the kids excited early so starting October 1st it will be "Halloween Month" full of crafts and baking

I'm so stoked!!
So far there are only 2 halloween magazines and that haloween craft book out in stores...still awaiting decorations...

That sounds fun. My kids love to make Halloween treats and crafts. At least they use too, the oldest one is 12 so she might not be too into it this year. That is going to be sad.

I went through a "I'm too old for Halloween" faze when I was 12 as well as all my other girlfriends but that luckly only lasted a year so if she isn't overly excited for it this year, don't be too worried since i'm sure she'll be overjoyed for it next year

Good for you Firefighter Barbie!! There needs to be more people like you introducing the joy of Halloween to young kids (God knows the schools aren't). Who knows, you could be the person they thank in 10 or 15 years for giving them their Halloween obsession!
Keep up the good work.

Picked up some more magazines over the last few days. There
were others but I don't buy them unless the whole mag is
dedicated to Hallowe'en. These things are getting expensive!

Awe thanks

...I can only hope
So I brought more good news...the local produce market brought out those funky looking corn cobs that people use for decoration (sorry I don't know the actual name of them) and that means that the fall/halloween season has offically started here

I should be seeing more stuff come out in stores soon hopefully

Don't bother with the Family Circle.
There are a few good ideas and photos, but most of it is their usual stuff.

I bought some of those flickering lights
A funny prop. It is a set of glowing eyes that turn on and shake the bush you attach them to. It is motion activated. My 10 year old thinks it is going to be the greatest prank for visitors.
I saw a cool glittered skeleton at Grandin Road for over $100. I bought some spray adhesive and glitter and made my own. Pretty.
Some spider lights, a gross out cookbook, a pair of mummy hand tealight holders, 2 diecast hearsts, and a shower curtain and rugs.
I got some at Big Lots and ordered the other things from Lakeside Village. Cool stuff. Cheap. Got the entire bathroom set for $20.00.
